K. Ryan Proctor, Ph.D.
K. (Kristina) Ryan Proctor is the Executive Director and founder of the Athena Institute for Mechanistic Science (AIMS). She is the author of the book Mechanistic Criminology and has published academic articles in the American Journal of Sociology, Social Forces, Sociological Forum, Society, Journal of Criminal Justice, Criminal Justice Review, Sexuality & Culture, Journal of Men’s Studies, AIDS Education and Prevention, American Journal of Physical Anthropology, Journal of Higher Education, and Review of Higher Education. She earned her Ph.D. from the University of California at Riverside in 2010 with specializations in criminology and sociological theory. She completed a two-year postdoctoral fellowship in 2012 at Stanford University studying organizational and institutional theory.
K. Ryan Proctor additionally serves as a research Scientists at the United States Air Force Academy where her work applies the New Mechanical Philosophy of Science to understanding misinformation and disinformation
